II Latin American Thematic Forum, Colombia

Specialists on culture, communication, art, economy and politics meet in Manizales, Colombia, from April 28 to April 30, 2004, during the II Latin American Thematic Forum. Among the participants from different Latin American countries, many culture scholars, communication theorists, sociologists, administrators and people in charge of culture on the continent, all determined to consider and discuss different topics. Among the topics: Citizenship, Democracy and Social Dialog in Latin America, and Models of Modernity in Latin America.

This event aims to socialize experiences, discuss perspectives and suggest initiatives in the sphere of Latin American culture, as well as to analyze the role of culture in the development of economy, in the creation of new educational parameters, in the resolution of conflicts and in the peaceful coexistence of different cultures. The results of the discussions will be sent to the International Cultural Forum in São Paulo.
