Launch of the book Os Satyros: Teatricidades – Experimentalismo, Arte e Política, a collection of articles by researchers and journalists about the story and the artistic, educational, urban, and social impacts of the work of the group from São Paulo, which has developed a theater marked by transgression and values of alterity and freedom. There will be a conversation with Os Satyros director Ivam Cabral and the organizer of the publication, Marcio Aquiles. Mediation: Silas Martí. 

Ivam Cabral is an actor, playwright, and filmmaker, and a cofounder of the theater company Os Satyros. Recipient of the most prestigious theater awards in Brazil (Shell, APCA, Governador do Estado, and others). He is the executive director of SP Escola de Teatro. As an actor, he has been in the cast of several shows and has performed in more than 30 countries. He has written dozens of pieces, which have been translated to Spanish, English, Swedish, and German. He holds a doctoral degree in performing arts from the University of São Paulo and is also a psychoanalyst who has studied with important names in the field in Brazil, collaborated with the project Apoiar, of the USP Psychology Institute, and also has a private practice. 

Marcio Aquiles is a writer, literary and theater critic, and author of sixteen books, including the novels Artefato cognitivo nº 7√log5ie (Biblioteca Digital 2021 Award) and O amor e outras figuras de linguagem; the poetry volumes A cadeia quântica dos nefelibatas em contraponto ao labirinto semântico dos lotófagos do sul and O eclipse da melancolia; and the dramatic anthology O esteticismo niilista do número imaginário. He has a multidisciplinary academic background from USP, Unicamp, UFSCar, and Schiller-Universität. He worked for five years as a journalist and theater critic for Folha de S.Paulo and has coordinated international projects at SP Escola de Teatro since 2014. In 2023, he received the 1st Prêmio Egresso Destaque Unicamp, which awards accomplished alumni from the university, as “a recognition of his distinguished professional experience.”

Silas Martí is a journalist, art critic, and the editor of the Culture section of the newspaper Folha de S.Paulo. He has a degree in journalism from the University of São Paulo, a master’s degree in architecture and urban studies from the same university, and now he is finishing his doctoral research, also at the School of Architecture and Urban Studies of the University of São Paulo. He specializes in art history and criticism and the contemporary art market, having studied at the Università degli Studi di Genova, in Genoa, Italy, at the Sotheby’s Institute of Art, in New York, and at the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo. He received the Knight-Wallace fellowship from the University of Michigan, in Ann Arbor, United States, where he conducted research on urban ruins and gentrification.
