In this residency, the Argentinian theater director Marco Canale works with older adults (60+), with or without a background in theater, music, or dance, to create the show The Speed of Light, featured at MIRADA. Local residents are selected to share their memories anywhere the work is presented. The documentary, moving work is built from the stories, memories, and narratives of the people who take part in it, reflecting about the past, present, and future of the city and its territories.
Marco Canale is a theater and film director from Buenos Aires who creates theater and film projects in the intersection between biography, documentary, and fiction, moving around different cities’ public and private spaces. His plays have been performed in places including the Edinburgh Festival, Haus der Kulturen der Welt (Berlin), The Row (New York), Festival Re/Posiciones (Mexico City), Young Vic Theatre (London), Casa de América (Madrid), and Teatro Nacional Cervantes (Buenos Aires).
