Resumo
Este artigo elenca uma série de temas relacionados ao patrimônio cultural na cidade contemporânea. Parte-se da compreensão de que o campo do patrimônio cultural foi ampliado, aliando questões como as relacionadas às manifestações artísticas e práticas culturais dos mais diversos grupos até chegar à discussão sobre lugares de memórias e consciência. Apresentando e analisando exemplos recentes, defendese aqui a ideia de que o patrimônio está inserido no campo de disputa social e urbano da cidade contemporânea.

Abstract
This article lists a series of subjects related to cultural heritage in the contemporary city. It starts from the premise that the field of cultural heritage has been expanded, combining issues such as artistic manifestations and cultural practices of diverse groups. It also incorporates “Site of Memory and consciousness”. Through the presentation and analysis of recent examples, the text advocate the idea that cultural heritage is inserted in the field of social and urban dispute of the contemporary city.
