RESUMO
Este artigo analisa a dinâmica das lutas pela memória em diferentes contextos geográficos, mas também políticos e subjetivos. Procura indicar as contradições inerentes a cada um dos lugares onde se realizam e travam as chamadas lutas pela memória, destacando as estratégias que as constituem. Procura analisar a tensão entre desejo e necessidade de democracia e a produção e a tarefa testemunhal. Considera que a experiência traumática pode ser analisada como o fracasso da democracia e, ao mesmo tempo, como a evidência da passagem da força bruta, tanto no sentido do que foi impossível destruir, quanto no sentido do que fora destruído de uma vez e para sempre.

ABSTRACT
This article analyzes the dynamics of memory struggles in different geographical, political and subjective contexts. It seeks to indicate the contradictions inherent in each of the places where the so-called memory struggles are held and happen. It highlights the strategies that constitute them. It starts to analyze the tension between desire and necessity of democracy and the testimonial task and its production. It considers that the traumatic experience can be analyzed as the failure of democracy and at the same time as the evidence of the passage of brute force both in the sense of what it was impossible to destroy and in the sense of what had been destroyed once and for all.
