A aplicabilidade do Estatuto do Idoso nos dias atuais

Resumo
O envelhecimento populacional é um fato inegável, já que em 2020 o Brasil contará com 15,3% da população total composta de idosos e em 2030 terá a quinta maior população idosa do mundo. Isso demandará respostas sociais para que o envelhecimento seja um processo assistido, acompanhado pelas políticas públicas. Este trabalho objetiva identificar o conhecimento dos idosos a respeito dos seus direitos; apresentar, sob a perspectiva dos idosos, a influência da legislação/Estatuto do Idoso (EI) no cotidiano; e descrever as mudanças de paradigmas de conceitos dos idosos sobre o respeito aos seus direitos. Apesar de a maioria já ter ouvido falar no Estatuto do Idoso, na prática seus benefícios não estão sendo sentidos por todos os idosos.

Abstract
The ageing population is an undeniable fact, in 2020 Brazil will have 15.3% of the total population, in 2030 will have the fifth oldest population in the world. This will send social responses so that aging is an assisted process, accompanied by public policies. This work aims to identify the knowledge of the elderly regarding their rights; To know, from the perspective of the elderly, the influence of the legislation/statute of the elderly in their daily life and describe the changes in paradigms of concepts of the elderly to respect their rights. Although most have already heard about the statute of the Elderly (EI), in practice, their benefits are not being felt by all the elderly.
