RESUMO

Este artigo propõe uma reflexão sobre o tema lazer, velhice e instituição asilar. No primeiro momento foi feita uma pesquisa bibliográfica sobre o assunto e, em seguida, uma análise das coletâneas do Encontro Nacional de Recreação e Lazer – Enarel – nos últimos cinco anos (2001-2005). Procurou-se identificar, no conjunto dos trabalhos apresentados neste evento, a existência de estudos que abordassem o tema lazer e instituições asilares, tendo em vista verificar a sua ocorrência e possível evolução ao longo dos anos, os aspectos enfocados, bem como os grupos e/ou as universidades às quais estão vinculados. Verificou-se que, no período considerado, foram poucos os trabalhos apresentados no Enarel, nos últimos cinco anos, sobre o tema: um total de apenas cinco pôsteres, que, por serem resumos, não contêm ou não expressam consistência teórica. Os trabalhos sobre “terceira idade” e idosos(as), asilados ou não, em sua maioria, trazem relatos de experiência sobre intervenções – estas, quase sempre ligadas a algum projeto de extensão universitária.

ABSTRACT

This article proposes a reflection on the topic of leisure, old age and elderly institutions. A bibliography research was conducted on this topic, followed by an analysis of study selections from the “National Meeting on Recreation and Leisure – Enarel” in the period of 2001 to 2005). We searched for studies presented in the meeting which dealt with the topic of leisure and elderly institutions in so far as its occurrence, its progress over the years and its corresponding aspects, as well as the groups and/or universities associated with it. During the period under consideration, it can be seen that there were few works presented in the “Enarel” in the last five years on such topic, totaling only five posters, which either don’t have or don’t express any theoretical consistence, for the reason that they are abstracts. Most of the works about “old age” and the elderly, whether or not living in elderly institutions, describe experiences on interventions – which are almost always linked to some university extension project.
