VAPOR, ocupação infiltrável
[VAPOR, impenetrable occupation]
Continuing their investigation into Dança-Quebrada (hood-dancing) that draws from capoeira and break dancing as improv techniques, the group presents a nonsymmetrical dance that emerges from everyday movements and diverse bodies. The title VAPOR references the slang that, in Brazilian urban hoods, refers to the young person that dies and evaporates, disregarded by society. It is about those who occupy and give new meaning to borders as a strategy for existence. The work was originated in 2021, in a series of five videos recorded in land occupations in Teresina, and is now premiering in an on-site format.
Original Bomber Crew is an organization of hip hop practices, research, and productions, first established in 2005. It conducts works in education and creation of street dancing, performances, battles, and urban interventions. For many years, it was the group-in-residence at Galpão do Dirceu e Casa de Hip-Hop do Piauí. Since 2017, it is the group-in-residence at CAMPO Arte/REVOADA production house, where artists, languages, and contemporary research come together through experiences from the streets.
